Licence cost calculator

Tick the fees that apply to you and see an estimated total. Figures are TfL's published fees, last checked 2 Oct 2026.

What is not included

• The medical. TfL says the fee is set by the examining doctor, so enter your own quote.
• Vehicle licensing, insurance and other costs of owning or renting a vehicle.
• Any fee TfL changes after the date above.

Check before you pay. Another website quotes higher application and grant fees than TfL's page showed on 2 Oct 2026. We use TfL's figures. The SERU resit fee was confirmed on TfL's SERU page on 2 Oct 2026; English and topographical resits are estimates because that page does not list them. Always confirm on the TfL licence page. The application fee is non-refundable.
